A Winter Graduation!

hey guys, this blog post  is a few weeks overdue, but better late than never right ;)

I am proud of what i accomplished, and i have to thank God making it to this point! I finished my undergraduate. I graduated with a degree in Business, Advertising & PR and i have to say, i really enjoyed my course throughout the years. I am now looking forward to the next step in my life (WORKING LIFE!!)

although my Graduation was in winter, on a rainy & windy day :(, that didn't stop a girl from wearing a dress and my favourite heels. Of course i wasn't going to ruin my outfit with a coat! & it was worth it. Graduation is a day to remember forever.

Now lets talk about the outfit.
I decided to go for my favourite look of the season, the classy chic look.

mesh insert structured Midi length dress, with my black heels of course.

without my gown
As it was cold and windy i had on a print scarf, just to cover up and keep warm a bit.

Of course my sister is going to feature on the blog, hehe.
It was a fab day.

I just basically wanted to share some pictures from graduation with you guys.
Hope everyone is ready for the holidays!

xoxo

Should potential employers look at candidates’ Facebook pages?

Hey guys!

I am currently going to through the graduate job application, and I have been finding it interesting that employers check candidates on social networking sites. One job application actually asked me to answer the same question..... should potential employers look at candidates' Facebook pages?

Facebook is a good way of making sure there are no red flags with potential candidates; these include drinking, drug use and bad mouthing former employers. One’s Facebook page can be a reflection on the person’s character and attitude. I also believe that if an employer dose not like a person on Facebook, they probably won’t like working with them. Facebook is a good way for employers to research about the potential candidates just like how candidates can research about potential employers.
The entire focus of a job interview and resume is to get to know the candidate and decide if they are the best fit for the job at hand. In my opinion if the employer has the chance to get to know the person on a new level then it is perfectly acceptable. Overall, seeing the job seeker’s social media profile would accomplish the goal of the interview in the first place because they are getting to know the applicant beyond the cover letter and resume.
It is the responsibility of the employer to hire the best person for the job, and in that sense, using social media to get to know the applicant seems like a thorough way to get the job done. By using the information they gather, the employer would be able to determine if this person is best for not only the job, but the company as a whole. By placing the right person with the job, the company will benefit in the long run.

That is just my view on the situation!
Have the great week guys!!  xoxo

HOLIDAY LOOKS!

"Only great minds can afford a simple style"

Hey guys

Its been a while.... No excuses for the silence, but i'm here now :)

I just came from a much needed relaxing holiday in Greece. I must say it was amazing and the people there are lovely. below are some of the summer looks from Greece. I like to keep my holiday outfits simple and colourful!

with my beautiful twin
loved my pink summer hat (from TKMAXX). We both kept it simple here. The whether was around 30 degrees Celsius when we were there so i definitely wanted light simple clothes.

Now i'm back in England, and back to the job hunting process as well. I must say, for me, this is one of the most stressful times of my adulthood. The job market tight, and there are a lot of graduates looking for job as well, especially with my degree it is a very competitive market.
But, you know what guys?! I know MY perfect job is out there, and going to get it very soon.
To be honest after going through this whole process, I know i am going to appreciate and love my job.... so hey it's all for the best.

Hope everyone will have a great weekend... XOXO

"The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside. That’s what’s really going to make you look like you’re ready to rock the world.”

Early Spring!!

Now every field is clothed with grass, and every tree with leaves; now the woods put forth their blossoms, and the year assumes its gay attire. -Virgil

Happy monday everyone! Well it's officially spring in England, and of course i am going to do a fashion blog post.
it is still a bit chilly though it is also sunny so I have to balance it out :)

Kept it casual with some angle boots, navy jeans, sheer top and a biker jacket. Of course I had to add some colour, so I carried my green hand bag. I was just going for a lunch date so i wanted to keep it simple and casual.
A biker jacket is a good way to keep warm but also look chick especially if the weather is still chilly. I also chose the black angle boots because it is not warm enough to wear open shoes & not cold enough to wear heavy boots, so the ankle boots were a great option for the weather.

Thank you guys! have a fab week :) XOXO

Boys with a Cardigan!! Smart Casual

“A man should look as if he had bought his clothes with intelligence, put them on with care, and then forgotten all about them.”
- Hardy Amies

hi guys.

so spring in the UK has been delayed :(, but I have a new fashion favorite for the boys!!
Layering up with a cardigan is HOTT for spring!!

The cardigan is now a new substitute for the waistcoats. The cardigan is and elegant and practical way to keep the spring chill off. I like how one can clash the shirt and the cardigan  one can even layer a herringbone cardigan over a striped shirt and a checked jacket.
A big factor as to why i'm loving guys layering with cardigans, is the fact that it is chic. A cardigan can add personality to the outfit, from the color.

The cardigan can be the most classy and versatile piece in a man’s wardrobe. They are perfect for any occasion. For a chic look, a cardigan can be worn over the t-shirt. For an informal look, cardigans can be paired with smart trousers, skinny tie and formal shoes.

Good friday and happy Easter to everyone xoxo

Primark Hots up!!- Latino inspired summer collection!

“Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you.”
― Karl Lagerfeld

hey guys.

So Primark unveiled its fiery Latino inspired summer collection early this week, and i have to say for a value store i am impressed!!
The collection definitely got me in the mood for summer..!!

I love how Primark's collection is offering a pop of tropical colors, tribal prints and plenty of latino spirits. It actually seems as though the collection is drawing on Moschino and Louis Vuitton's 'Chica Latina'.

PR Campaign of 2012

PR Campaign of 2012

RED BULL STRATOS

hie guys,

Someone recently asked me what the biggest PR campaign was in 2012. Being a PR student myself there were a few good campaigns that i personally liked in 2012, but RED BULL STRATOS did it for me!!

The Red Bull Stratos is one of the most recent PR campaigns that I have admired and also is an example of PR at its best. Sponsoring Felix Baumgartner’s record-breaking jump in 2012 stipulated Red bull with a huge global exposure as well as public approval. Not only was the campaign promoted through social media and but it also received remarkable mainstream media coverage from round the globe, making top story news in numerous newspapers and magazines. This PR stunt was also an excellent example of word of mouth as everyone was talking about it. From a PR perspective it’s impressive how the stunt was intensively covered by major media outlets pre, during and post event. Red Bull made sure that the whole two hours of the stunt were reported live on the YouTube stream, which allowed anyone around the world to closely watch the feat. And it broke records as eight million people were watching not only the jump, but also the Red Bull logo and branding. Talking about online, the campaign achieved thousands of followers and fans on various social media networks; with 3 million tweets it was the most talked about topic for days. Such buzz created amazing engagement opportunities for the brand.

Red Bull was right on point - creating a campaign that truly exemplified their tagline - "Red Bull Gives You Wings."
